MEET KELLY,

Kelly is a licensed structural engineer with 20 years of professional experience. She works directly with homeowners, contractors, architects, and other trade professionals to deliver safe, effective engineering solutions for individual customer needs.

Kelly was raised in Gloucester and earned her degree in Engineering at Columbia University in New York City.

She has worked for the Port Authority of NY & NJ designing airport facilities and for the consulting firm Greenman-Pedersen managing highway bridge design contracts.

She is a member of the City of Gloucester Capital Improvements Advisory Board and enjoys volunteering with youth sports and the women’s softball league. Kelly resides in Gloucester with her husband, daughter and son.

Periodic Safety Inspections

Condition Assessments

  1. Assess structures such as residential homes, condominiums, foundations, retaining walls, piers and decks.
  2. Address concerns such as sloping floors, bowed/cracked walls, temporary columns, fire damage and foundation settlement.
  3. Instruct contractors on repairing structurally deficient and unstable conditions.
  4. Recommend ways to increase living space by adding dormers, additional floors, and bump-out additions.
  5. State Required Multi-Family Inspections

Wall Removals

  1. Evaluate options for open-concept spaces by identifying load bearing vs. partition walls.
  2. Provide information to contractor for budget pricing: using steel vs. lumber, beams concealed in the ceiling vs. cased openings.
  3. Provide plans for removing load-bearing walls and installing structural beams.

Contractor Recommendations

  1. Work collaboratively with your team (architect, contractor, suppliers) to address time-sensitive, design and construction issues.
  2. Design wood & steel framing, metal connectors and concrete foundations.
  3. Provide officially stamped structural engineer drawings, specifications and details, for obtaining building permits.
